USAA Teamfest - The Original 1970s Version
These are images from the early years of the original USAA TeamFest event, circa 1978-1979. The USAA building had just been finished in late 1976 and by 1978 we were playing softball, soccer, volleyball and basketball. The soccer field was huge. Something like 75 yds wide and 130 yds long, with an elevation change of 17 ft from the upper corner down to the lake. Quite a different playing experience from the small field we have today. It was leveled when the parking lot and new basketball courts were installed in the 90s.

Technical Background: All B&W photos were shot on Plus-X or Tri-X and processed in my "darkroom", it was called a bathroom before I commandeered it. The digital files were created by a commercial lab scanning at 4000 dpi. If you have a bright monitor you should be good. Most of these images can be enhanced with 'a bit' of work.
I think the 1978 images were shot with an Argus C-4 35mm with a 50mm fixed lens. The 1979 images show much better quality and were shot with a Nikon FM and 43-86mm zoom.
